Marriage Counseling
Today's world is often difficult for couples to have a happy, successful marriage. With over 50% of all marriages ending in divorce, it is a challenge to maintain an effective committed relationship.
The purpose of marriage counseling is to help couples become more effective in their relationships. It is a way to bring in an empty tool bag and get it filled with helpful tools.
Couples who are married have made a commitment to each other and their relationship. In most cases the most effective course is to learn new ways to communicate and revisit the reasons the couple married. Sometimes, however, a marriage is a mistake and should be ended. Marriage counseling is a process constructed to help couples decide what direction to pursue and is best for them.
Couples are generally seen together. There may however be times when the husband or wife may be seen individually to deal with non marital issues.
Some couples decide to come in BEFORE they have problems and get a "tune up."
Many couples also decide to come in before they marry so that issues can be discussed and settled before a final commitment is made.
